Queue It Up: “Mosquita Y Mari” now on DVD

Aurora Guerrero’s lovely directorial debut, “Mosquita Y Mari” has made its way to DVD (previously available through Video On Demand). The film goes beyond the familiar story of teen female friendships with an intimate POV focused on today’s Chicano community in Los Angeles. “MYM” was nominated for the Spirit Award’s John Cassavetes Award (feature film made for under $500k) and Guerrero recently won the National Association of Independent Latino Producers’ Estela Narrative Award  (recognizes the work of dynamic up and coming Latino/a filmmakers). My review: “Mosquita Y Mari”.
