Directed by Joe Johnston

Based on the novel by Chris Ban Allsburg

A board game has unexpected & disastrous consequences for its players

Jumanji (1995): 1 phrase to sum it up – My childhood.

Fun movie that made you want to be a part of it. I could break this film down & find its faults, but what’s the point? It’s amazing regardless.

Dirty Dancing: Expires on Netflix 6/1/13

Written by Eleanor Bergstein

Directed by Emile Ardolino

A girl falls for her dance instructor

Dirty Dancing (1987) A fun chick flick that has its iconic scenes (well, really just the one). Plot is meh (even for its genre & time), so just focus on the chemistry between Patrick & Jennifer and of course, the dancing.

Anaconda: Expires on Netflix 6/1/13

Written by Hans Bauer, Jim Cash, & Jack Epps Jr.

Directed by Luis Llosa

A film crew unwillingly follows a hunter of deadly snakes up the Amazon River

Anaconda (1997): It’s one of those good movies that is not a good movie. It stars JLO, Ice Cube, & Jon Voight – go figure.

Over the top acting, bad effects, ridiculous plot line, & plenty of plot holes…but damn if it isn’t entertaining.

Limitless: Expires on Netflix 5/16/13

Limitless: Expires on Netflix 5/16/13

Written by Leslie Dixon

Directed by Neil Burger

Based on the novel by Alan Glynn

A writer comes across a pill that makes it possible for him to tap into 100% of his brain

Limitless (2011) – One of those cool concepts that falls short on the screen, not to mention several plot holes throughout. But, it’s still worth the watch.

It’s a fun movie, but the beginning and ending are pretty ridiculous & seem rushed (e.g., the friend’s selling point for the drug was too weak and that scene seemed extremely forced). They could have made this movie 10x better, but again, it’s still fun to watch.

Wesley Snipes

Stallone claims on Twitter that Wesley Snipes will join the Expendables team. I’m interested. Passenger 57, anyone? I’m not expecting better writing (’cause let’s face it, it’s too late anyway), but I am glad to see him join the team. Now, if only they can come up with the female version to Expendables, with, of course, the better story to accompany the badass-ness of it.
