***This week’s guest post is from Frank Cavillo, our go-to guy for all things film appreciation.***

10. Thanks For Sharing

How this tale of three recovering sex addicts passed by everyone’s radar is beyond me. From the writer of The Kids Are All Right, Thanks For Sharing takes a look at various individuals suffering from sex addiction and the effects theirrecovery has on the people in their lives. Admittedly a less probing look into the subject than 2011’s Shame, Thanks For Sharing’s lighter approach helps lay out the fundamentals of such a disease and the different faces of it. Loaded with both comedy and drama, Thanks For Sharing succeeds in ultimately showing how addiction is truly universal, regardless of whatever type one is saddled with.

Wesley Snipes

Stallone claims on Twitter that Wesley Snipes will join the Expendables team. I’m interested. Passenger 57, anyone? I’m not expecting better writing (’cause let’s face it, it’s too late anyway), but I am glad to see him join the team. Now, if only they can come up with the female version to Expendables, with, of course, the better story to accompany the badass-ness of it.

Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera

NICE

NICE

My roomies and I will be shooting a short this summer, a comedy written by our very own co-founder Chris Brittingham.

We’re thinking of shooting with the Black Magic Pocket Cinema camera that is set to come out this July. We’ve read preliminary reviews on it but want to know if there’s anyone out there who knows more about the camera than we’ve been able to find.

Pros we’ve found so far?

*13-stop dynamic range
*Super 16 imaging area
*Records 1080/Apple pro res 422 on SD cards
*Super flexible lens mount
…and more.

Impressive indeed

Impressive indeed

Cons are harder to find since not many people have reviewed it. Anyone know more about this?

Feel free to post any information in the comments below or send us an email at indiesunchained@gmail.com.

Thanks!

Hannibal the Cannibal

Hannibal the Cannibal

Hannibal: The crazy psychopath who helps yet hinders investigations

Hannibal will not only kill you, but he’ll eat you too. And enjoy himself doing so. Fun show but the first half reminded me of so many shows already. Once Hannibal came into the picture, though, it picked up. Your thoughts on the show?

Norman Bates (Freddie Highmore)

Norman Bates: the beginning of the end

It’s scary to think of how it all began. We know what’s the end result to Norman Bates, and now we get to experience his life before his mother’s death & his…well, his transformation.

Joe Carroll: uses his charisma as a weapon.

It’s so scary to think how one person can have such an immense influence on a large number of people–crazy psychopaths who are willing to kill for him.

Louie (Louis C. K.)

Louie (Louis C. K.)

Louie: There’s no need to “get” him. He is who he is.

The comedian defies the rules of conventional television. He basically says he doesn’t care & doesn’t really know how to run a show. He’s doing it for fun. Example: He has the same actors playing different roles, just for the hell of it.
